Giveaway of the Day - Falco Checkers

Falco checkers:

As with last weeks game, Falco Chess, there’s little to say about checkers that most of you don’t already know, so I’m not going to write a full review today. The following is the information I found on the Falco web site, it lists the features found in Falco checkers and gives you a simple tutorial on how to set up a server so that you can play the game online. I’ve followed that up with links to several checkers sites that mainly deal with rules, strategies and tactics; plus several links to alternative games of checkers that you can get free or play online.

Features of Falco checkers

Falco Checkers is 3D OpenGL game.
Features:

2. Playing via Internet or local Network.

Connecting to a game server

1. Select 2 Players mode: Settings menu->2 Players.
2. Actions menu-> Connect to Chess Server …
3. Enter the name, Select IP, use any port like 1234, 4321, 1232, 1323. Press Start Button!
4. Wait when the game server selects an opponent for you.
5. Enjoy!

Conclusion:

The graphics are virtually the same as last weeks game apart from the fact you have checkers counters, (or in the UK draughts) instead of chess pieces. It’s definitely worth a download if you haven’t got a checkers game on your computer already. It look’s better than the free version available at Gametop, which I’ve linked to below. I can’t vouch for any of the sites I’ve linked to below. I’ve yet to re-install WOT onto this particular computer. (I’m in the process of formatting my main one)

Alternatives:

You can get a decent checkers game for free from Freegamepick, though it doesn’t have the online game play option that Falco Chess has.. When I tried to play it I received a warning from Advanced System Protector (ASP). ASP quarantined the bass.dll file from Real Checkers and I was then unable to play the game.
