Well...the game itself is not bad but far too easy. I played through the whole game in about two hours and after that the game simply ends (and I had 18 extra lives left).
Two hours of (easy) gameplay are not worth the money IMO.

Well, too bad. It looked like a game I would have continued to enjoy very much, but after the second occasion of playing it, I find that it is impossible to open it any more. I get a "fatal error." I have rebooted (for no particular reason other than desperation) and that has not altered the situation any.
It's a fun game, if you can keep it running.

The game is alright untill you get to the 5th level - the child has to smash animales! I even don't know if it is a cow or a camel....
it is not educating for my taste....

Yet another nice breakout clone that is ruined by unresponsive mouse control. the only thing that saves it is it doesn't go cheap with the extra lives.
the warhammer could use some work too[many times bricks right under the hammer aren't destroyed]
while i'd like to see better resolutions offered i feel that would make the laggy mouse issue worse.

Game will install, but locks up when it hits the 'create profile' (system has to be power-cycled).
Would prefer games to open in window first time so I can choose my resolution.
Running Win2k on AMD XP2400, 1g RAM, 128MB video card.

JDPower: Do you have a dual core processor? Maybe it's because of that.

Try assigning the game to one specific CPU core:
In Windows Task Manager: "Processes"/Rightclick on egyptianball.exe (or whatever)/"Set Affinity"/Deselect one of the CPUs

If it's an Athlon processor you can try installing "AMD Dual-Core Optimizer" instead.

I like the game, but it's a bit choppy sometimes on mine, and I also have XP and 3 gigs of ram and a great video card... so I have no idea why it it sometimes jerky. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 for that reason. I have other games like this (Bricks of Atlantis, Bricks of Camelot, etc..) and none of them do that.

Read something in the forum about Internet Explorer causing that trouble with the activation. I then allowed IE to connect to the internet (instead of offline mode) and now activation actually works. :-)

It's just strange because normally I don't use IE at all...

Activation again doesn't work for me.

Setup.exe says: "Activation assistant could not establish a connection with game.giveawayoftheday.com. Software activation not possible at this time. Please try again later or check your firewall settings." (Translated from German.)

But even if I completely deactivate all firewalls I get this error message anyway.

I played a few screens. Pretty good game. Game gets pretty hairy when the ball multiplies and the balls speed up. Personally, I dont like it as well as Egyptoid, which is much slower paced. Egyption Ball is pretty fun. So, if you like arkanoid type of games, this is a good one.

Well. Since the comments were good and some said this was as good as Strike Ball 2 I thought I would download it. It is good. There are enough differences with this game to the others it is worth the download. If you have wide screen this may not be the game for you. I do, and will uninstall it from the computer with the wide screen. The game looks blocky and stretched. I have a CRT on the other computer and it looks good. By-the-way, one monitor is 22in wide and the other is 19".

i think, by comparison to those above, i am slow and cludgy. nonetheless, even I can play this game. i am in total agreement with #14. just thought a confirmation wouldnt hurt.

to #11, JanW. yes it has animated critters of a sort, and also animated blocks.

and as noted in #6, this game can be stopped at anytime when windowed, so its perfect for taking a break when waiting.

I like this type of game and this would be nice (I especially liked the hammer, though its hard to tell where you're hitting sometimes), BUT, it seems awfully jumpy, and my curser "flutters" in the middle of the screen the whole time I'm playing, I have to keep pulling back on the mouse to get it off the screen. I didn't really care for some of the graphics either. It just kinda feels "buggy".....like something's not quite right. I only give it about a 4. If it were the only game of it's kind it would be different but since I have numerous others I'm not keeping this one. Thanks anyway GGOTD

Great game, but since there is no list of what the power ups are, you can't tell what to avoid til it is near you and then the text comes up! That makes some interesting gameplay! Thank you EleFun and Game GAOTD!

this game is fun and graphs are good but being that I beat it in Less then an hour I would think that 19.95 is a little much maybe 9.95 would be more like it in price, i think it need more levels or bonus boards. but all in all I would rate it a 8 out of 10 for this type of game.

I like this one a lot. Unlike some of the other 3D Breakout type games here lately (which I've also liked for the most part), this one moves pretty quickly AND the controls keep up with the ball instead of lagging behind like some games I've encountered with fast action.

Nice offering from Elefun -- thank you!

Nice game!!! The array of objects that you need to break down is really unique as are the bonus power-ups (as mentioned in previous posts). This game is definitely a keeper for me. I feel it is more fun than the other 2 I have (Bricks of Atlantis and Egyptoid)
Thanks heaps GGOTD

In my previous comment I wrote about adding some life-elements for future releases of this game. I now found out there are some bugs in it (not the program error kind of bugs, mind you ;-) ). I saw some animated scorpions and scarabs (a.k.a. dung beetles). Don't like bugs that much, but at least it's something... :-)

@ #21, Mort:
"poor mouse sensitivity - and lack of controls in the options menu - make this game unplayable for me."
No problems for me with the mouse sensitivity. It reacts fine to the movements I make. Could be worth your while to look into the options of your mouse (via the Control Panel).

"(Also, I don’t understand the use of a rocket ship pointer running at the same time as the bat. Maybe that was why the bat couldn’t move fast enough!)"
I don't think so.

You can use that pointer (which more looks like some sort of a dagger to me) to control the war hammer across the playing field. (A very fun feature addition, IMO!)

"But it’s nice to know the Egyptians had Roman ballista before the Romans came along!"
It's a good thing Cleopatra never met Julius Caesar... ;-)

what a good game plays well on windows xp pro.
good game play
the game sounds are good
and the music is wonderful(my kind of music dance and a good tune)

only thing that's a bit of a down side is that the playing field gets a bit full of busted stuff so it can get hard to see the ball

9 out of 10 for the brick buster game

would have been 10 out of 10 if the screen did not get so clutted

I seem to be in a rut! It seems like the games that catch my eye are in Egypt. Is it my imagination or are there a lot of them lately.

It is a good game but not quite as good as Magic Ball. The ball is hard to see behind the debris of the previous destruction.

I gave it a thumbs up, though.

Great Game.

These developers have bade the most basic 1970's video game fun again.
they continue to morph it into several different games with new graphics, sounds, powerups etc.. My Son and his friends play each of them until the end. Then they never play it again :(

I like it, it's challenging and entertaining.
Thanks ggaotd!
Keep up the good work White Rabbitt

Hello !

Yes, it is an 3D Arkanoïd clone...

But there is a great clone. Some things are new like graphics who are very nice, and the pieces of what you destroy who stay at the floor for a while before to disappear.

There is a great game. Thanks a lot !
