Does the word "review" mean anything to you?

"If you really want people to think you’re not offensive, then stop talking down to them all the time. Inviting yourself into other people’s conversations (which is what you have done in your last post) IS OFFENSIVE."

The comments section is one giant "conversation". I "invite myself" into it by visiting. How is stating how my opinion differs from others' offensive? Anyway, the issue was that Ernie LaVallee said that Phil was offensive, which he wasn't. I was defending him.

By the way, you just invited yourself into my conversation. I find that offensive! ;)

Brickshooter Egypt is slightely different match 3 experience, but not as good as Bejeweled 2 Deluxe..pass.

# 65 Go Ernie, lol!
I do Beta Testing for several game sites, so I get the good, the bad and the ugly! I have to keep an open mind. This one was a good one! I did one for Smillyville, now that was ugly!!!!!! Your right, don't belittle people! I had an old HP from my son and was on Dial-up at first! Now I have a Dell and Broadband. I needed the upgrade because of the amount of testing I do! Give an honest opinion on the Games and don't pick on the people!

EASY INSTALL. I asked for some games that make a person think some and it looks like they listened. The last couple of weeks there have been several great games offered. I though this game was well worth the install. It is a keeper!

I ran the game too long, (more than 3 times) and it locks my system up, and i have to hard boot it.. : ( i'd rather uninstall this game, rather than let it crash my system again and again.. Cute game wish i could play it more, it's cool, but the 0% crashes are vital to being a great game..

I've been very busy today, and I simply don't have the time to do a review now. However, I will say that a thumbs-up vote for this game is well-justified, given that it's very original and gets quite challenging after a while.

>moo

"This is a fabulous game. I already own it, but am downloading it again in case I ever “lose” it."

Did it ever occur to you that any event that would trigger the loss of your original copy would get rid of your new one?

>Josh

"I’m certain the thumbs down are knee jerk reactions of brickbuster/match 3 haters (emphasis on jerk). This game is incredible. I can’t wait to play it, but alas I must finish the two Atlantis games first."

I'm guessing that you gave it a thumbs up before playing it. Wouldn't that be a knee-jerk reaction, too?

>Barbara

"Wow - #26 sure got up on the wrong side of the bed today. I don’t consider “this is my favorite game” to be fawning."

Maybe not, but it should at least be accompanied by something remotely informative. For example, my favorite game happens to be The Neverhood, but there are plenty of people who hate it for the same reasons that I love it. People should explain why it's their favorite game.

>Hobo

"I played a similar game a while back, maybe two years ago, it was with an Inca backdrop, or some sorta South American Indian graphics, it was way cooler, far more complex, 3D graphics feel… Sad thing is I can’t recall the name or find a link, now that I got you drooling."

Treasures of Montezuma?

>David Regenspan

"If you like whiz-bang shoot-em-ups, this is not for you."

I like both games that require skill and games that require strategy. So, I "like whiz-bang shoot-em-ups", but it actually is for me.

>Ernie LaVallee

"Phil(#28): You’re not a jerk because you you’re far too intellectually advanced to enjoy a “break-out” or “match 3″ game."

Who said that he was? He certainly didn't.

"You, in particular, are a jerk because you seem to take great pleasure in putting down people who don’t have access to the latest technology."

When did he do that? I didn't see that anywhere. Oh, wait, he said that he didn't like it when people whine about not having a fast enough connection to download games. How is that a put-down? How would you like it if people complained all the time about how they couldn't afford a Hawaiian vacation?

High-speed internet access is hardly new, anyway - it's been around for at least a decade.

"(That and the fact that you “pen” side-splittingly awful poetry that any self-respecting 15-year-old emo chick would be embarrassed to churn out.)"

Who's putting down whom?

"Here’s a news flash, little fella: some people have more important ways to spend their money (and their lives) than than turning their computer into a home arcade."

Where did that come from?

"And to others the technology simply isn’t available. If you can’t grasp that, at least make sure you only speak for yourself when belittling others(as in “…it’s not OUR fault others are on dial-up or can’t find a way to upgrade their systems)."

He's not belittling anyone, you're the one who's belittling him.

"Life is short, FluffyDuck, do something worthwhile with it."

Yes, erm...KittyBun, do something more worthwhile than flaming Phil.

So far, so good.

The first few levels are deceptively easy, then the game starts to show what it's made of. I just finished Djozer and will be starting Sneferu later on. Of the games I've downloaded and played from here, this might have to go in my top three, along with Jets N Guns and Treasures Of Montezuma.

The name may itself be a bit deceptive (at least Egypt is right) - don't let the use of 'brickshooter' or 'match 3' fool you. This game takes it further and requires some additional thinking outside of the immediate match, all without requiring powerups or weapons to get the job done.

The game gives you a hint after some time has passed without moving, but a lot of times you have to figure out exactly what it's suggesting that you do beyond "move this one". Sometimes it has set me up for a combo, sometimes it has done nothing but get some useless bricks out of the way so I can finally get to what I need to take out that last piece. It doesn't cost you anything, just some time without making a move before the game offers an assist. No, it won't solve the level for you, nor should it, but it doesn't hurt to have some help every once in a while.

It's nice to have some more games here that catch my interest. For a while, there wasn't really anything I bothered with. While they may not replace my mainstays, there are a handful worth keeping around for the times when I just want a simpler game that's good for a few minutes (or hours, as it usually ends up being) of distraction.

Heh- That's a good one alf- might be the answer to getting rid of it, get the government out and hand it to somebody who knows about subduction zones- the planet's garbage disposal.

Alas, software isn't as easily disposed of. The bad part for me is that most of these games don't interest me, but the wife is a game freak- so I install them but can't make meaningful comments until she gets to play 'em after a day or more of me mentioning there's a new one to try out.

I really like this game. It's a good "brain exerciser"; not like the usual "match 3" games.

It installed perfectly on my Windows XP and Windows Vista Machines.

Upon start-up of the game my mouse cursor on both machines would flash, disappear, and reappear. I had to go into the options menu and "check" the "custom cursor" option to fix this; "simple enough". I could then see the mouse cursor with no flashing.

Everything else went perfectly and play was awesome. The sound effects are great, however, I turned off the music (as usual) so I could listen to "Lynyrd Skynyrd".

Thanks again GGAOTD and Playrix. I now have another of your great games to add to my extensive game collection.

Wow, another great giveaway from Playrix Entertainment! It's a match 3, yes, but very innovative. A very good strategy based puzzler. Runs fine on Vista. It's also not timed which makes things less stressful and more fun. Don't worry--it's still a challenge.

I HATE this game since it is so addictive. I finished the game 10-11 times before I decided I had wasted enough hours on it and deleted it from my comp. Am still fighting the urge to download it again. Awesome game, the only bad part is that everytime you finish the game, you have to start with too simple first few levels. After that it is fun though.

I like this game, though i haven't played it in awhile, i downloaded the last time it was offered. I may have to give it a try again, I do remember it sucking me in, and playing for hours. Yes, it is more of a strategy game than a match 3 or brickshooter, the name is deceiving.

Download and install no problems on XPsp2. Very cool puzzle - match 3 combo game. Good color contrasts for my low vision (legally blind) and a great mental workout for my aging brain. Nice addition to the Atlantis games. I've "risen" Atlantis twice and am on Level 8-4 of "Quest" with 7 lives and several unused bonuses. Quest is harder than Risen but still fun! Thank you Playrix for bringing some great games to the party! Thank you to GGOTD for your wonderful offerings. Thank you also to "Whiterabbit aka Stephen" for your insight and photo uploads. I can almost always tell if I can play and will like a game by your remarks! What would we do without you?! :)

The problem with user ratings is that it's hard to gauge just how accurate they really are. You will get people who vote a certain way based only on what type of genre it is or who the developer/publisher is, not even bothering to download and play the game. With any given site that has the option of user ratings, it's much the same thing. Whether it's for a game, movie, album, book or what have you, not all the votes are accurate or representative of the audience.

That's not to say user ratings are useless, but they are NOT the only thing that matters. I myself have a hard time assigning a grade, score or rating to something; I haven't used thumbs up/thumbs down much here. It doesn't really say much, and one man's awesome game is another's merely okay game. Plus, having only two options to choose from doesn't make it any easier.

There are times I've been online at 3 AM (Eastern time, U.S.) when the games are switched out, and have checked the site to find a couple dozen ratings (if not more) after only a few minutes, which tells me people are voting without downloading. Once I saw that many votes after only a minute, according the both my computer and the clock sitting across the room.

If you've played the game before, be it a demo version, previous offering or have bought the game before, fine. Mention something before you wander off to another site and don't just click up or down. When I've downloaded a game, I prefer to say something and hopefully cover the good and the bad and not rely on a thumbs up or down to say what's on my mind.

But that's just my $0.02 worth.

Firstly....Thanks GOTD! This is one of the first places I visit when looking at my email.
I downloaded this game when it came out last time and both my wife and I love it to bits. I keep inventing new names so I can play another different game. It is quite absorbing to get all the bricks out and win a level and the further into the game the more difficult it gets.....but there are ways and means if you work the game play out.

This is enough of a variation of "match-3" to be called "puzzle" or "logic" instead. It's very nice. It goes along with the other archeological type games that Playrix has been offering.

It also works great in windowed mode on my 32 bit Vista Ultimate.

This is not "fawning". I like this game!

If you get too boggled you can restart your level, which I've had to do at times. Overall it's very enjoyable, one of the best of puzzle games. Save it where you left off and pick up on it the next day. Very good offering, I do hope it's appreciated!

And by the way, it took us months to complete the highest level the first time and when we finally did it, the hubby and I had to do it together. I think it's because we think differently and it takes two different ways of thinking to complete the highest level successfully,
anyway good luck to all of you and may you become a god soon.

This company has offered all the games that I really love to play! They have good quality and this one is a real puzzler. It does make you really concentrate on how to get to the next level. Also, I don't feel pressured as there's no timer counting down, so I can relax and enjoy it! I've had this one since the last time it was offered and got sidetracked with Rise of Atlantis and Atlantis Quest. This is not your 'usual' match 3 game! It makes you use logic! Thanks for offering all of these..

I downloaded this game the last time it was offered and challenged my husband to try it, if the number of hours he's put into playing it is any indication, this is the best, most fun, interesting and challenging puzzle game out there. He plays it every day, to relax and unwind after work or before he goes to bed, I play it to keep my aging brain sharp but the satisfaction when either of us completes one of the harder levels is the same, BIG. And because the 'outside' bricks are never the same twice, neither is the game. We've completed level 10 five times now and to our delight, some of the inside patterns are different as well, it's like a whole new set of problems. A huge thank you to GAOTD and Playrix for one of the best games we've ever played.

Somewhat innovative "match 3" game - instead of usual "try to clear a full field of marbles", you actually place your own marbles onto the field in order to annihilate a handful of those already present there. You take your marbles from four "caches" around the field. Thing is that you can't release a marble from cache unless there is already another marble present in the same column of playfield (say you have a marble at square C-3, so you can release marbles only from cache columns C and 3). Since the marbles are of different colors and you need three of the same in order to remove them, you need to plan ahead a lot. You can't move those marbles you already placed, unless you remove the marbles in front of them.

Well, simply put, it's "chess among match 3 games." :-) Recommended.

gotta go against the flow here a bit, I played a similar game a while back, maybe two years ago, it was with an Inca backdrop, or some sorta South American Indian graphics, it was way cooler, far more complex, 3D graphics feel... Sad thing is I can't recall the name or find a link, now that I got you drooling. :-)

I felt this game is only priced $19.95 to make us feel we are getting value, but hey, it's a great thing that GAOTD digs up a new one for each day - so, thanks anyhow; the rare gems are well worth it!

I downloaded it last year when it was the GOTD and loved it. It was lost after a computer crash, but I went and bought the game from the publisher's website so I could get rid of my withdrawal symptoms. This isn't just a kiddies game, it's a brain teaser that any adult could enjoy. It's worth at least 9 out ot 10 thumbs up.

I installed this game the last time it was offered and have played it a lot. It is very enjoyable and is well worth the download.
