This is my kind of game, I love to figure out puzzles. My only "wish", and this is no biggee, is that they'd put a restart button right on the main game page so when you need to restart the level you're on you wouldn't have to click the X at the top first. Like I said....no biggee. This is a great game and Id definitely buy it. I'll be doing searches for additional levels.
Thanks GGOTD

It is kind of annoying that if a mistake is made, such as pushing a rock against a wall that you can't undo the mistake. While the shorter puzzles are OK to redo the level, as the levels gain in complexity remembering all the steps necessary could become a problem.

Finally, gravity works for the objects, but not for our intrepid explorer?

A fun puzzle game that gets progressively harder. Haven't had time to make it real far yet. Only con I've seen so far is the unusual gameplay. Your character roams around as if you are viewing from above, no gravity affects him the bottom of the screen, yet all objects are stacked and fall down to bottom of screen like a 2D side scrolling game. It only takes away from the realism, but makes for interesting gameplay. Every other aspect of the game, such as the intro, and leveling up is all nicely done and easy to understand.

Very glad that a Rake In Grass game kicks off this round of game giveaways. I don't think Rake has given away an unworthy game here, at least not since I started downloading in Nov. of '08. They and Realore have been the stars of the giveaway and I would recommend any gamer with some spare change to check out games from both of those distributors. Rake in particular has a knack for finding interesting developers and development houses - both the conventional but interesting types like 300AD, the group here - and more unconvential games like Archibald's Adventures, a game which combines these kind of geometric puzzle with an entertainingly off-kilter platformer and also LarvaMortus, a zombie shooter.

This is definitely simpler than the Classic version, but partly that's because the tutorial here shows you the trick to solving those introductory levels, where the Classic version only preps you on the mechanics, not the specific strategies. I'm not saying I disagree with Sukibabe (I mean it slightly differently) but I prefer games whose helps/tutorials are clear about the game's mechanics - though not necessarily the strategies. Some gamers like to figure out the game's mechanics themselves, but I like to know the mechanics so I can concentrate on the strategies. It bugs me when I end up finding out a game function only by stumbling on it in a forum. So the Crystal Cave games get thumbs up from me for their clear tutorials, although they didn't explain the "transporters". I wouldn't have figured that out if I hadn't already seen it in Archibald's Adventures.

The difficulty increases slowly in both games, which may not please the hardcore folks, but I feel is the right approach to attract a broad audience. Simple, with enough mental challenge to keep you interested, but not enough to give you a headache (or make your head explode :) ) That's an aspect hardcore gamers don't always appreciate. Many of us unwind with simple challenges, rather than, say, breakneck paced multi-player shooters. Again, simple, fun, interesting, can't ask for too much more.

And adding a level editor always is very attractive icing on the cake. BTW, excellent suggestions, WR, concerning a level website and editable tile structures. Every developer would benefit by thinking in these terms.

Does look like the thumbs are broken. I can't give it a thumbs up ether. 8/10. Maybe 9 for the casual gamer who wants a more relaxed challenge. A great comeback for GGOTD.

I downloaded the Classic version when it was offered in November and I have just finished every level of the game so I am so happy to see that now I have more levels to play.

With out a doubt, this is the best game I have ever played. It's not a strain your thumb, wrench your wrist. Carpel Tunnel syndrom creating game. It's no shootem up game although Rake in the Grass and GAOTD have offered some very good ones. This game involves thinking and planning, and you can go through the levels in any order you wish. It is stimulating and guaranteed good for exercising the old brain cells (what few I have left). I love this game and am saddened to think that when I complete these new levels, there are no more. In fact I am sure there must be other games like this but I can't find em or just don't know where to look. I remember along time ago GAOTD offered a game called RoboBox which required the same skill sets as this game but other than that I have never found another game that compares.

I am not a big gamer but if there were more games like this one I could see myself getting pretty serious. Thanks Rake-in-the-Grass and GAOTD for a stimulating and fun game. A game I would clearly pay 25 or so dollars for but thanks to this great website, it's free!

If you do not D/L this game, you are loosing out on one of the best reasons for following GAOTD

Well, I did it again. I meant to test and post something useful. 15 hours ago. So here I am posting when it's probably too late to do much good. In fact, I haven't even tested yet, but am posting because I've got a couple of pieces of info. that I hope will be helpful to previous posters.

For Montana Grandmom and Leon I know exactly what your problem is. I had the same problem with Crystal Cave Classic. Lead, as usual, by our excellent moderator, Whiterabbit, we discussed it when the Classic version was given away. Crystal Cave Classic was not written with the standard Windows proprietary video architecture code - Direct3D - but with the open source OpenGL architecture. As WR suggests, you need to go to your video card manufacturer's site. There you'll hopefully and look for the openGL drivers that will work with either your specific card, or a driver that will work with all that company's cards. I had exactly the same problem with the Classic version until I installed openGL. I'm sure this is the problem you're having with the current version.

For Ben, this won't help much, but it comes up frequently here. Unfortunately, your particular Windows Error Report is the one that there's no way we can't help you with on these pages. When you see "stackhash" in the Windows Error Report it means that WE Reporting couldn't identify the error. It's literally a message to a tech to take a look at the stackhash. In other words, to look at the memory dump that Windows Error Reporting created with the hopes that the tech can identify the error when WER couldn't. Sorry.

I love this game! I had gotten to the too hard levels in the Classic version. No problems with this one in operation either. I believe an Undo feature would be nice, maybe even 2 levels of Undo. It's great to have both versions of the game on my computer. Thanks you for another good one.

I'll just add two things:

1. It *might* be a good idea to do something to increase the difficulty for experienced players.

Perhaps count the time taken and the number of moves for each player, so people can try to better their friend or better their last game.

Or perhaps have an optional timer.

2. If you're targeting the children's market, parents buying for kids under 14, you should probably soften the bustline of the girl. It is a bit too pointy. Just a bit. But leave her busty, because we adults like a bit of sexiness. So full bust, but not pointy.
