Not sure anyone will view my comments at this late date, but will post them anyways. The game installed and has played just fine. However, my version seems to be missing a critical elements. There is a lens that should have appeared in the popup with the "genie lamp" -- in my version, it was NOT there. Consequently I am stuck and unable to progress any further into the game.

I made a post on your forum a few moments ago and hopefully someone can help me. I really don't know how to fix this.

terrible control. you need to repeat the action several times before the game to understand. 2/10

From one Bunny to a Rabbit: I do wish the comments for a game could be open for longer than just the day the game is given away. I finished the Amulet of Dreams on Sunday and have more that I'd like to add to my review, and I don't know if the developers read the forums. Usually it's rather a moot point, since the games have been out a while, but I've noticed that the Mystery Tag games are fairly new and haven't hit the larger distributors.

.............................Moderator Comment..........................

Hi Stealth Bunny, you can leave comments at any time. You just have to go top the first page where you'll see a list of recent giveawys. If you can't see it, scroll to the bottom and click on previous games. Once you've found the game click on it to open up its pages then scroll down to where it says leave a comment. You dcan only see the first three comments until you click on view all comments.

You should be able to configure your security to allow the giveaway. Alternatively you could download it from MyPlayCity or Gametop. Thoguh do make sure you uncheck the boxes to stop toolbars and home page/browser changes.

Downloaded and installed on my machine running Vista - but I couldn't get the game to open so I deleted it. Tried it on my laptop running 8.1 - no problems at all. Many thanks for all the puzzle/HOGS - they are my favourite genre.

@angelique,
Dans le repertoire du jeu il y un fichier "game.ini" dans lequel on trouve
[Locale]
Default = en

traduit:

In the directory of the game there a " game.ini " file in which we find
[ Local ]
Default = en

It is normally sufficient to replace " " with " en" as in the " Localization " is available " Locale_FR " and in it there is the file " text.xml " which should be in French. Unfortunately for this game is written in language of the East with their alphabet ... .So for this game I'm not arrived at easily put it in French.

Works okay on my old XP SP3 3GB 3GHz system, with I think, a 256MB graphics card! Now if the operator were just a little smarter at this type of game...

HI,

It took over 20 minutes to download with 8.1, but loaded fine and played with ease. The graphics are very good!!!
I played a little without any problem. I'm not sure if its me or game, but have not found next place to be yet,
but need to stop for now.
Thanks for another great game!!

I installed the game on a 7 64 bit with no problems. I finished the game and it was pretty fun. I really enjoyed some of the puzzles and solved more then I skipped, unlike on some other games. The only real problem was most (really about 85%) of the time even when you had the correct item that was needed it wasn't taken. That was the only drawback I found. I would give it a 7/10 and again it was just the extra time spent trying to put the right object in the right place.
Thanks

Downloaded and installed smoothly. I am loving it; I am an adventure light fanatic, but don't mind the hogs if they are well done, which these ones so far, are! .
MysteryTag thanks so much again, I really have been enjoying all the games that you have shared here!
White rabbit, many thanks for your hard work here!
Have fun with the relatives and tell your daughter to Profite bien in her trip to France(I am envious, am half French and have been several times...love the French culture , food and country....:)
Many thanks GGOTD as well!

I agree totally about the reading speed. When you had to read her diary it just flew by.
It took me 48 minutes to download on my XP laptop.
No problem with the curser but couple of screens in a dark translucent box appeared on the left side of the screen that persisted over a number of scenes. I closed down the game and restarted and it went away (so far) for good. I am now half way(?) into alternate world.
Thanks.

Besides violating copyright, I don't think that CAN be done. That's the majority of the download. Most emails won't take anything anywhere NEAR that much.

Installed great on my old-ish Dell Vostro 1000, can put it in windowed mode no problem, so graphics demands aren't a problem, and it didn't have any hiccups running. I was also able to change the cursor as I don't like fancy ones. Looks like fun, I only tried it for a few minutes for test purposes, but will play it later when I have more time. Thanks!

It's a nice game, thanks. A few problems the Developer might want to know. Sometimes, it's hard to tell where to click....I try & try & think that's not the right spot only to discover later on that it indeed was the right spot-I just needed to hit the right pixel, grrrr! Also, I personally prefer to have to click in order for the dialogue to continue or for it to end. People read at different speeds & the text just isn't on the screen long enough in most cases for this slow reader. :-\ And then, a whole paragraph just FLEW quickly past me with no way to stop it so I could read the thing! But, aside from the issues, I do like this game. --Dax

I downloaded using DTA with Firefox and it took about 4 or 5 minutes for each machine - if that. It slowed down from about 3.5 MB/s to 1.1MB/sec at the end on Windows 7. I didn't see the same effect on Windows 8.1 but I may not have paid attention.

The "install" as a winrar is slow but sure. I didn't have to change the destination on either machine since the last winrar was the last MysteryTag game offered here.

On both machines -- fine! I experienced no problems but just took both games to the point that I was pretty sure it was working. Bad weather locally has got me somewhat sidetracked even though I've been pretty lucky compared to the images I've from the area.

I don't know if it will work, but is something to try... in the options, you can turn on, or turn off system cursor.
In either case, it won't hurt, and if it works, you can play, and if it does not work, you are no worse off then you are now.

A nice idea: a HOG with a sort of fairytale-like setting instead of the usual dark doomy gloomy ones about solving murders and sending rampaging aliens home and so forth; lovely!

I just hope I don't get the same no-cursor-inXP error that Gabrielle reported; I had something similar with one of the other MysteryTag games recently. Can't recall whether it's their older or newer titles that have this issue.

Looking forward to trying it though; thanks to MysteryTag and of course GGOTD team!

Downloaded/extracted, etc just fine on Win7/64, played up until the first portal. Loving it. So delighted with Mystery Tag games! This one is harder than some of their earlier offerings and I'm loving it all the more. Thank you so much for having a map in this one, as there is back-tracking. The art is beautiful. Some of the music is a little repetitive, but it isn't on every single scene. Story is intriguing. Haven't found many actual puzzles yet - most of it is find the missing objects to go back and open this or make this work, etc, but haven't found anything about it boring so far. Thank you once again!

Yes, a lot of MysteryTag's games seem to be built off the same platform. Which makes it doubly odd that some run fine on my system, and some crash it.

But for something a little different from MysteryTag, take a look at "Russian Oligarch":

Just a quick heads up. Despite the stated system requirements, this game runs on Windows XP. I've only played it for a couple of minutes, but usually system problems show up immediately, and there were none at all.

Hope your week is a happy one, Stephen. All the best.

"...gotta round up some jumper cables so I can get the van to the shop for repair. "

With apologies for both the O/T response & unsolicited advice, if it's summer where you are it is often a good time to pick up a self-contained battery booster or jump starter cheap. Workable models start in the US at around $20-$30, are much safer [don't have to worry about frying the electronics on the car/truck you're getting the jump from], & can also come in handy, especially with a power inverter, on the road, powering anything from laptops to small ovens.

I've also found once or twice -- & I've no idea why -- Chrome will download faster than Firefox. Today the Firefox download died, so I restarted it, then started the download in Chrome just in case. Firefox won the race, but only by seconds, & that was after being 150MB ahead.

Try Alt+Enter to force windowed mode. Often the cursor will appear then. I had that problem with a Match 3 game with Win 7 and it solved it.

@ bricolou

Why don't you look into the languages under localization files and see if the french files are there but mislabeled, if not, maybe you can make your own, or get someone to help in making them.

It is true that that could be a rather daunting task, as comments may probably need to be in a very specific order for the game to put the correct comment in the right place during the game.

Communication via computer is amazing isn't it. I get to talk to my middle son who is living in China because of it and then this past year I found my cousins who I hadn't heard from in over 40 year and also some elementary school friends from 4th and 5th grade.

Somehow this crept back into the end of the review " Cab Lady/Lady Lei doesn’t recommend TooMyk Games due to malware warnings." The site has cured this problem and it seems safe now.

No time for review, gotta round up some jumper cables so I can get the van to the shop for repair.

I've managed to contact old school friends that I'd not seen in over 30 years thanks to the internet (a site called friends reunited (pre facebook)).

I tend to copy the last part of the review and update the bits that need changing such as new deals over on DIG and IGS. Will try and remember to delete it.

Why do your downloads take such a long time??? It says here now - and i do have a completely new pc - 40 minutes??? With bigfishgames i download such a game in about 5 minutes... this long time to download does not leave the impression on me that yours is a trustworthy site, i am sorry to say.

Bandwidth is the answer. The giveaway servers only have a certain amount of it. Community members are downlading virtually the whole day. The larger the file the larger the number of community members end up downloading at the same time. Each member gets an equal percentage of the download stream, so the more downloading the slower the download. As more download, the speed gets even slower creatng a type of bottle neck.
I downloaded the giveaway zip file in about 1 minute 30 seconds )using a 60MB broadband speed) because I was able to download it before it went live, so no one else was downloading.

Downloaded and extracted fine on Windows 8. These type of games are just my cup of tea. Mystery Tag are almost as good as Playrix. Only played for a bit, but the story looks interesting and gameplay is good. I like the concept of using inventory items in the hidden object scenes. Cant comment on the music as I always mute the sound, as I like to play in silence. Thank you Mystery Tag and GGOTD for another great game.

Good Morning Stephen, I am trying really hard to imagine you with a duster in your hand, but to no avail so I will stick with the image of you running around the house with a Hoover instead. Week in and Week out you spend what must be many hours giving us the run down on games, with a well documented in's and out's of said games, and I really don't think any one of us would begrudge you a WHOLE DAY off tomorrow (Sunday). In my opinion turn off the Computer and get you and your Family ready for your visiting Relatives from Australia, especially your Aunt who has probably still got the Black & White Photo of you from the 60's, and will be amazed at how much you have changed. Seriously though, put all of us on the back burner till next week and concentrate on enjoying quality Family time. So as you will not be back until next week, enjoy the break, we are big boys now and we can work out if the game is any good or not.

Regards Kev

..................................Moderator Comment................................

Thanks Kevin. They don't arrive till the afternoon, so I should be able to post a review and moderate for part of the day, then resume late evening. :)

Thankfully Skype has cut down the distance between my relatives in Austraia (all the matriachal side of my family). I remember when they first emigrated, it would cost £2 per minute just to talk to them on the phone. Back in the mid 60's that was equivalent to around £64 (approx $96) per minute at todays prices. So we only phoned at Christmas and special occassions. Now I can talk to them using a web cam and skype for free; amazing. :)

I've seen my aunt twice times over those years when she's come over to visit family. The last time to say goodbye to her mother who was in her late 90's at the time, about 8 years ago, previous to that it was in the early 70's This will probably be the last time I see her face to face unless we manage to visit in the next few years. We've been planning a world tour, but because of my accident I dont travel very well now, so we've been putting the tour off. Probably until the kids are at university.

I've not been able to download a demo of this game from a trusted site, so haven't been able to play the game untill it went live this morning. So, no full review.

I've got yet another really busy week, getting my daughter ready for her trip to France. She's visiting Leon, (a little worrying after the shootings yesterday), I'm also getting a visit from my aunt, who is visiting from Australia. i've only seen her a couple of times since she emigrated in the mid 1960's. The house needs a really good spring clean before she arrives tomorrow (Sunday). I will still be moderating, but it will be less so on Sunday.

Problems:

If you have any problems installing or getting today's game to work please go HERE for help. I've posted most of the common problems and solutions in a FAQ thread, which you can find in the sticky section of the forums by following the above link.

If you are posting late in the day I would also suggest posting in the main giveaway forums, in the game discussion section because I cannot moderate 24hrs a day over the weekend. I've created a thread HERE for that purpose. If you've installed the game but it won’t work for some reason, it should still be registered, so someone may be able to help at another time. Unfortunately if your problem is actually installing it then once the giveaway period is over there’s nothing that can be done until the game is given away again (though that isn't guaranteed). Sometimes you can still register the game after the giveaway has ended so long as you managed to start the download before the giveaway ends. I've tested this and the grace period lasts for up to 1 hour.

It’s always worth checking out the free games sites because sometimes the games we get here are also available for free from them. MyPlayCity (MPC) has the most with over 1000 games to choose from. Other sites include Gametop and FreeGamePick. Todays game isn't available from any of the free sites

If you do download any games from MyPlayCity, Gametop or the other free game sites 'do' watch out for toolbars etc. Make sure you un-check the check-boxes during installation, and, in the case of MyPlayCity, every time you boot the game up, (this may have changed now as these free game sites tend to change the format frequently. .. I've posted links to all of the common free game sites below in the games, games games section. :)http://steamcommunity.com/app/263200
For now I won't be recommending you download games from Jenkat Games. They have changed the way you get games from their site. Diane has posted information about this over in the game discussion forums. If I have time or remember, I'll link to it. Cab Lady/Lady Lei doesn't recommend TooMyk Games due to malware warnings.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Games, Games, and yet more Games:

There are 304 games on sale over on Steam this week, ranging from 10% to 90% off. You can find a full list of all sale items HERE. You can play all of the Total War franchise for free this weekend till Sunday evening (GMT). Well worth checking out, especially Total War Empire, Total War Medieval II, Total War Shogun 2, Total War Rome 2 and Total War Attila. You'll find them HERE. Just install and play; there are no restrictions until the free weekend ends.

You'll also find some excellent deals over on the following Game sites. For example, there's a 23% off coupon that can be put towards the pre order of Fallout 4, the long awaited sequel to Fallout 3, (one of (if not) the best open world rpg's with a post apocalyptic survival theme around.

To be honest there are too many game deals around too list them all. Just visit the sites I recommend above and I'm sure you'll find something that suits you for a very decent price. If like me you prefer Steamworks games, many of the above sites also sell steamwork games.

If that's not enough, check out the Game Discussion forums HERE for details of other games either free or on deals such as the Indie Game bundles (there's over 20 of them - If you purchased all of them you'd be paying around $80 for around a thousand dollars worth of games); or check out the four day sales at IndieGameStand. you'll find the indie bundles thread HERE. The thread is outdated, but all of the links will still take you to the latest bundles.

The latest IndieGameStand game is called Blade Symphony:

Prove you are the world's greatest swordsman in Blade Symphony: a slash-em-up featuring a highly detailed and in-depth sword fighting system. Face down other players in tactical swordplay, 2 versus 2 team duels, sandbox FFA, or the Control Points game mode!
/

PLUS, if you pay over the average, which at the time of writing was $1.46 you will also get a second game called Galacide:
Galacide is an evolution of the shoot ‘em up genre, combining the fast-paced action from classic shooters with the quick-thinking tactics of puzzlers. Choose from a variety of ships, each equipped with unique features and abilities. Embark on your mission to tunnel through the strengthening alien invasion, find it’s source, and save the galaxy! Go it alone or assemble a squad of your friends to battle in the most unforgiving corners of the universe!

The deal ends Wednesday 1st July 2015 5am (GMT) There has been some rumblings over at Desura and IGS have posted a message saying they can't guarantee keeping records of desura keys, so you should redeemany Desura codes ASAP, then download the drm free copies of the games.

The latest DIG game is Torsion a 2D survival where you are a lonely and simple Gear, lost in space, and have found yourself on a strange new world. The creatures of the new world give you a great power and ask to save them from the invasion of creepy monsters. Now your role is much more important than it was. You must free the whole world from invaders!
- 5 unique worlds
- A lot of weapons
- A variety of enemies
- Cool bonuses
- The ability to upgrade the GEAR
- weapons shop
- Incredible dynamics that are guaranteed to knock your socks off!

You can get two keys if you pay more than the average of $1.04 (at the time of writing - this price is sure to go higher). One key to share with a friend or family member perhaps? You'll find that deal HERE. They also have five bundles of several games that'll cost you less than $1.50 each HERE (DIG Bundles 31, 32 & 33, plus DIG reBundle 7 and DIG Greenligh Bundle 1). You get Steam keys for all of these games apart from the Greenlight bundle; however, if they are Greenlit, you will receive Steam codes.
The single game deal ends just after Midnight Tuesday (30th June) and will be replaced with a new game; (details haven't been posted yet)

Most of the bundles retail for around $5 give or take a few dollars (apart from the Daily Indie bundles that only cost $1.49 for six games), but you can pay as little as a dollar for some. There are some excellent bundles out at the moment. Check out the following:
Groupees (5 bundles)
Indie Gala (6 bundles)
Humble bundle (2 Bundles)
Indie Royale (2 bundles available)
Bundle Bandits (0 bundles)
Blink Bundle (0 bundles)
Play Injector (0 bundle)

The free game from Origin has changed to Ultima 8 Gold Edition. It's been optimised for todays computers. It's well worth getting, especially if you are into classic games. Check it out HERE.
You do need a free Origin account and install the Origin client to get these free games. Once you've installed the Origin client and signed into your account select 'On the house' from the 'Free Games' drop down menu. Then select download now. The game will then be registered to your Origin account.

A Request for help:

Developers rely on good feedback to improve their games. If you download this game please take some time once you’ve played it a while to leave some constructive feedback either positive or negative. The more constructive feedback we get, the more likely developers are going to give more games away. The giveaway site already has a very good standing with the search engines. Developers want their products out there on the WWW, this site has the potential to do that. The game giveaway project gives away on average between 9 to 17 thousand downloads for each game depending upon what genre and how obscure the game is. That’s a lot of homes these games are being downloaded into and a lot of 'potential' cash that’s being lost by the developers. If we get better games because of better feedback, the community are likely to continue to benefit from the generosity of the developers. Satisfied community members are then more likely to visit the home sites of those developers and purchase games that they may not have bothered with before they discovered the developer via the game giveaway site, thus giving the developers more incentives to give away even more decent games.

Please leave some feedback once you’ve checked the game out. It can be positive or negative, but please explain what your reasons were for the feedback you post. You could also leave suggestions for improving the game, for example, this game could do with more block types for the levels editor, add more power-ups, describing the ones you think would be suitable, add some mini games (which seem all the rage in some arcade games now) or enable the user to be able to change the in game music easily.

Thank you in advance to all those who take the time to post a constructive comment, and a big thank you to immanitas games for sharing and to the game giveaway team for getting these games.

Regards

Whiterabbit aka Stephen
