This is for Swan and any others who feel slighted by certain game controls:

A few days ago, you posted your displeasure about keyboard-only controls. And, you tied your displeasure into your limited use of at least one hand - and, then, you mentioned the US disability laws.

At first, your post p*ssed me off, then I let it go, as you stated that you had very limited mobility in your right hand.

When you became a bit militant about forcing game developers to include controls for people with limited mobility, I felt you were approaching the subject FAR too confrontationally.

ASK, and it takes time, but you will probably receive.

PLEAASE stop complaining here, and take your (very valid) concerns to the GAME DEVELOPERS, Swan.

It's almost impossible to feel sympathy for someone who has presented no proof that they're attempting to rectify the situation OUTSIDE this venue.

The world is not responsible for making sure that everyone has everything they want/need.

Be more grateful and less whiny, please.

I installed this on my BF's computer: we'll see how he likes it. Good tension release, and I like the monsters! Combination of keyboard and mouse...maybe he'll buy the sequel!

Not a bad game this time, i like it for the scare factor. I nearly jumped a foot once the aliens started attacking and thats what usually draws me to games like Resident Evil. The music is nice and spooky which is a plus, nothing worse than crappy music to turn me away from a nice game.

I dont like the controls though, the way the person moves is annoying. It makes me want to put a controller next to my keyboard. Also the free turning torso or waist reminds me of a doll.

All in all not bad, i'll keep it and see how far i can get in it.

i like you guys,,,,too bad one can only install a game once the time is up. but hey if u like it buy it later

#47 - I was getting that error message too intially. I double checked my ZoneAlarm firewall and found some of my settings had mysteriously changed since a recent Windows update - God how I wish I was able to change to Linux or Mac ... Anywayyyy. I changed all the Activate keys and Setups listed in the Program Control section to 'Allow for this session'. Bob's yer Auntie. The game installed just fine. Might be worth you trying the same thing.

Verrrry cool game. Had to restart it a couple of times because my character proceeded to run full tilt northwards past the fence and out of the scene and I couldn't get her to stop running - She must have known what was ahead of her! :o) But thrid time lucky ... I managed to get her to behave - no idea what was wrong initially - And then it was off into the green gore and goo fest! Yay! :o) It's a nice little touch allowing you to choose between green goo or the red stuff.

I've only managed to get through a couple of missions so far, but I'm pleased I had the chance to try this game. Thanks to GGOTD and Sigma.

After almost an hour downloading, I couldn't get it to open. Too bad. I tried "IE" and my download accelerator and right clicking on the icon in the folder. Anyone have ideas. This would give it a rating below 3 for me.

Just a side note: some portions of the EULA seems to be copied out of Blizzards WoW EULA, i wonder why noone found out yet :P

the only drawback:

The activation does not work. It starts and goes idle :/ (doing nothing for minutes)

I should note that phelix (the other freebie today) worked fine).

One suggestion though: In order to keep Master Roht(#51) and those of his ilk happy, maybe once in a while you could offer something shiny or squishy to download and play with. Maybe a nice ball of yarn with a little jingle bell in the center.

I am speechless. I've been asking for this one since the first Sigma Team game was offered. You guys = awesome.

Well this normally is not my type of game, but i was pleasantly surprised in that i actually love it lol...I only played for 15 mins or so, but i can already tell i'll love it, just cannot figure out how to shoot and move at the same time....but will get info in the forums later....THANKS GGOTD!!!

Very nice shooter with some strategy elements. You decide where to move the character and in what order to explore rooms, between levels you decide what weapons and ammo to buy. Walk the character around, pick up bonuses, and look for aliens to kill. Once inside the building, you have the character quietly walking around exploring the area and picking up bonuses. Finally you go through a door on the far side and suddenly aliens burst through a wall screaming, accompanied by loud guitar music. Pretty cool as it's quite a surprise, you better shoot quick. :D

Graphics look good and it runs fine. Shoot by clicking left mouse button, character moves around with either arrow keys or mouse. To move with the mouse just place the target on the spot the want the character to walk to, then right click. Shooting and weapon changes work fine, the way the character moves could be a bit better though. Movement looks weird and sometimes it gets stuck in a corner with it's legs moving like it's still walking. In rooms sometimes it's blocked by chairs. The chairs look like they're on wheels and they move, but not all of them move quite enough for the character to get them out of the way so you have to change direction. It doesn't affect game play much, it's just character movement looks unnatural and it's annoying sometimes when you have to change direction because one of the chairs can't move enough while others move fine.

When the game first opens you get a small control panel to choose screen resolution and either 16 bit or 32 bit graphics.

Re: #37 Swan: Maybe you didn't explore the game controls? I just played and won the first few levels entirely with the mouse. Character movement and all shooting can be done entirely with the mouse, see explanation of how in 2nd paragraph first two sentences above. On later levels you may need to change weapons, which only requires hitting a single key occasionally and can be done with the left hand while the right hand is still on the mouse. If you can type comments then you could probably hit one key occasionally during play? Unless you're using voice recognition for the entirety of typed comments, including smileys and tildes? I don't use voice recognition, but the programs I am familiar with don't handle smileys and tildes very well at all and so also require occasional use of the keyboard for corrections.

This game isn't for me due to the fact that there is no choice to use keys or mouse gestures for everything. I'll give this a quick mention every time -

I don't have a lot of mobility in my hands, so any games that are controlled only by keys, are useless to me.

I must find out if game designers are supposed to conform to disability laws just like everyone else.

Anyone here a lawyer?
