Found a problem in the solitare game (Day 8). The Hint kept pointing to a 'leaf' life picture on the left side. But clicking on it doesn't work. Somebody please help. Thanks

The Day 16 curse affected me as well (Win 7). I found the New Game option confusing as well and the hints were sometimes difficult to spot. Also I do not understand why HOG games do not conceal the whole screen when pausing, it's the perfect cheat to make it in time. Didn't like the story but I gave a thumbs up.

I don't either, but when I went to look for the shortcut and didn't find it after rolling back, I had checked the files, and found no .exe file at all. That's when I made the post. I couldn't just re-expand the dl'd file. It won't reinstall, obviously. :)

Decent game overall, challenging for a HOG -- a few corrections need to be made:
- Watering Can appears as "Husky" on the list = ULTRA confusing. The jpg in the graphics directory also says wateringcan -- should say "Watering Can"
- Japanese Kanji appears as "Hieroglyph" on the list -- Hieroglyph = Egyptian rune

Thanks for the game!

This is my first attempt at commenting on a free game. Thanks to all the team for these free games.
The graphics of the girl and the warning "do not panic" are very clear but the main game backgrounds and objects are poor .
I think this is because these days a lot of us use larger screens and this is designed for smaller screens - laptops.
It was commented earlier that HOG are for the kids!
While I accept the teens like fast action with lots of controls there are people who can hardly use a mouse and their eyesight is no longer as good as it was.
That is why the "do not panic" sign should be removed and an untimed choice be added.
The objects "target" area needs to be improved - you can click on an object in a number of places before you get it to register.
Hints should also be looked at - perhaps a way of earning extra hints or carried forward unused ones.
The mini games need improving and a skip button added.

Name of objects - can easily be changed - needs someone that knows English to look down the list and change as ness - some examples -
Badminton birdy = Birdie/Can = Fizzy water/Cigarette-holder = Mouthpiece/Decanter = Wine glass/Divider = Tweezers/Gold candlestick = Chandelier/High heel = Heals/Nail = Screw/Pacifier = Board/Poison = Perfume/Water can = Husky - the first word is the original one and has been changed (at some time)to the one after the = sign.

The story line does not interest me at all - read a few words at start.
I never have music on - that's because I only have time between 11pm till 3am.

This could be a great game - needs work - can do better.

I play a lot of HOGs. This one was disappointing. When I blew it up to full-screen size the graphics were fuzzy. Playing in a window got rid of the blur, but many objects were just too hard to see: even when I used a hint to show me exactly where the object was, there were perhaps a dozen objects I still couldn't make out at all and more that I could just BARELY discern once I knew where they were. Worse, a number of objects were mislabelled (a compass was called "tweezers" for example).

Installed easily on Vista.
I am a fan of HOG's but found this one to be boring. Item descriptions were unfamiliar - example was to find a "board", the board ended up being a baby's pacifier. Did not have many mini-games and the ones it had were uninteresting and not challenging. Uninstalled game in less than 1 hour.
Thank you G-GAOTD for all you offer.

Downloaded/installed/played well on Vista 64-bit. I like HOGs, but I'm afraid this one will not be one of my faves. I played through the whole thing in under 1.5 hours and don't see much re-play value.

As mentioned by others, there's a language problem with some of the clues. I *never* would have found the "Husky" if someone hadn't mentioned that it's a watering can. If that's a picture of a dog on it, you could have (and did) fool me. Other items are indistinct or confusing. The "Marble" looks like a crystal ball; the "Drill" is only a drill bit; "Scotch tape" looks more like masking tape; though there are different "Crab" and "Lobster" graphics I had one screen ask for one when only the other was present (and correct). The "Rhinoceros" requested in the "Dream/Tree" sequence looks much more like a Hippopotamus to me, thought I did see a definite Rhino on another screen.

The "clicking penalty" is annoying (though I did chuckle when the DON'T PANIC! screen popped up - but only because it reminded me of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy). When you are requested to find something as generic as "Figurine" in a room with multiple possibilities you are going to make some wrong clicks.

As mentioned, some of the clicking is far to "tight" especially on small, slim objects - like the stick men in the periphery of the screen or the "Clover" placed underneath a dragonfly. (I *never* would have found that w/o a Clue - and even then got a time penalty and Don't Panic message because I could not "hit" it right.)

Although the Request List changes on replay the items are still in the same place. Actually, some items seem to be in exactly the same place on the monitor even when they are located in different rooms. When you get to Days with multiple locations I did not appreciate the Grand Total of objects being displayed. It made it difficult to decide whether or not to use a "Clue" when I was not sure how many objects were left to find on this particular screen.

Finding multiples of the same object was rather boring. Though matching pairs of butterflies was OK, finding 70 jewels was a complete waste of time. When asked to find multiple "animals" - apparently Starfish don't count.

The graphics are good and the music is OK. The storyline is "like totally" immaterial, unresolved and disjointed. As a "Lefty" (with my mouse buttons reversed) it was very annoying to have to "right click" through the entire game. The very best thing about it was that when you click EXIT you are OUT immediately without the usual half-dozen required "are you sure?" confirmations.

As always, your giveaways are appreciated. I hope some of my comments are helpful to the game developers. I enjoy a *good* hidden object game and hope to see more of them here. (I also like basic word games, card games and puzzles.)

I downloaded, and installed it with no problems, and the game plays smoothly with no hiccups or hitches.
I like these type of games, but some scenes are a bit overpowering in the sense that there are too many objects, but that's me and my bad eyesight. LOL! Nothing against the game or developers per se.
Thanks for a nice game. :)

Downloaded and installed without any problems. Have the same issues as mentioned by other gamers such as the words (letters) not divided properly. Example: flatiron for flat iron. Could be confusing for someone if English isn't their cup of tea. A non English person could easily think it was some kind of word.

Another thing is, if you click an object and you're not right on target, it doesn't work. I was trying to click a tiny yellow worm (I think it was a worm) but had to get it right in the middle. The cursor was bigger than the object. Lol! Just a little hassle, no biggie.

Very nice graphics but very disappointed...I was expecting more. Like some kind of interaction. Instead of reading a text message from Amy's friend, I thought we could hear them have a conversation. The lack of interaction between the different characters in the game takes away a lot of value from it. My personal opinion of course.

A lot could be done to make this game more interesting. Interaction between characters and/or objects, bonuses, more days, scenarios, etc.

It's a $6.99 game but you can get for free at Gametop??? It's been on their site for quite a while too. I've noticed a few giveaways that are available and can be downloaded elsewhere as freeware. I find that kind of odd. Just saying.

All that being said, I'm still going to keep the game. It might not be the best HOG game out there but it's one more to the list of many games and a change when bored or done with the others.

Thank you GGOTD and Fly Games and to you Whiterabbit/Stephen for your fantastic reviews and for taking the time to moderate throughout the weekends.

BTW: #38 - MsDee: You not recommending this site to other people is their loss! You might have been able to find the game and to uninstall it if you had been looking for: "20 Days To Find Amy" instead of "20 Days To Find Alice"!!!

Too funny! LOL! LMAO!

So, I dl'd the game and activated it. Had to roll back my computer to an earlier restore date. Now I don't have an exe file. I suppose I'm SOL, right?

..................Moderator comment................

Rolling back to an earlier time doesn't delete files from your computer, only the registry entries and shortcuts. As the game was free standing you should still be able to play the game if you can find it. Do a search for 20 days (which is the name of the executable) or check the default installation path to see if the folder is still there. I'm sure it should be. Please let me know if you find it.

Runs on Win2K, on only 8Meg graphics. No noticeable slowdown. Decent game, but I'd have to say the bulk of the above criticisms apply. In other words, some fine tuning would help. Thanks for the opportunity to evaluate.

I think it's really strange to have a HOG without an Untimed Mode. Even if the time allowed is generous, I just don't enjoy them much when I have to keep watching the clock and/or using hints. Not sure if I'll bother finishing this one, but I am sure I won't replay it. Nice to be able to check it out for free, tho.

......................Moderator Comment.....................

I think this was rushed through, which would explain it's unfinished feel. i.e. No un-timed mode, no continue game in the main enu plus bugs and other graphical problems and no cut scenes.

I do like HOGs but this is one I'm going to have to pass on. Some of the objects just don't click properly and we've already heard about bad item descriptions, but completely lack of story and below par graphics just can't hold my interest.

As always though, thanks GGOTD and White Rabbit for what you do. I really do appreciate it. Just not this particular game.

Looks like a fun hidden-object game for the most part.

I was able to get past Day 5 on my Vista PC. The story seems a little "in your face", without really matching up to anything in the game play. Additions to the story seem to get lost in the "Level completed" notification. Also, who's Anna? I missed that - I thought we were looking for Amy. I'd suggest either tying the storyline in to the game play a little more, or dropping the story in favor of more levels to complete.

I finished the game (in about an hour of playing time). I ran into one bug where images appeared and the item showed up too far to the right to appear. Unfortunately time ran out before I could work out what it was. Although looking through the data files It appears to be the one pictured in L52_UPP.png.

Since the lists appear to be randomly generated, I suspect that there's a setting for one or two of the objects that's throwing things off. Maybe it has something to do with why the watering can comes up on the list as "husky". The glass of juice also sometimes comes up funny. And the compass comes up as "tweezers".

I dislike HOG games as it is but this was worse than most. Some objects were difficult to click on accurately which led to uncertainty on my part. The storyline was so poor that it hardly made any sense at all. Having to click on "New Game" when restarting the program made continuing my saved game confusing. Some hidden items were repeats from past days which made locating them a no-brainer. On the good side, I didn't mind the time limit and the number of hints available made that a reasonable and well-balanced challenge.

Husky seemed to be a watering can as far as I could see. I had to use a hint on that one.

I've had no problems with it (so far) but I'm only on day 6 or 7.

It's a decent HOG and I like HOGS. You can just let your mind wander so it's great as a stress reliever.

Made it up to day 16 (puzzle #20) before I ran into the missing last object problem. Only part of it shows up; looks like the frame of the office chair in front of the computer? Clicking "hint" just flashes in the lower left corner but nothing to click down there. Anyone who has made it pas level 16 want to share what that object might be, so I can click it and move on? It's always the same, last object. :-(

On day 16 (or 17?) I can see a list of images to find....until I am just getting to the very end! There appears part of an image several "spots" lower than the last I am able to find. When clicking some items that look similar nothing happens other than getting a penalty for over-clicking, and when I ask for a hint I lose one, but nothing appears indicating where the item is supposed to be.
Shame, because until that incident I was enjoing the game (and sometimes guessing what some word are suppose to mean :-), e.g. "husky")

This is a nice game. I don't normally like timed games, but for free I'll take it!! LOL I got past Day 4 without a problem. I like games like this in between games that are a lot more challenging. It helps to separate them and avoids confusion between the games. I disagree with Scott who said this is an idiotic game. I don't think it is. Besides, what's wrong with having games for young kids? Not all games should be geared for adults. Kids deserve them as much as we do.

Thank you WhiteRabbit for providing the downloads for us. I for one appreciate it. It's something you aren't forced to do. You're heart is in the right place. I don't understand why people complain about the games when we get them FREE!!! What other web site provides FREE games without ads in them?? Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone!! Merry Christmas. I hope some Christmas games come up. Not sure if there are very many.

At 43 I guess that I could be considered 'mature' (although some might question that)and in general I enjoy HOGs. This one is fairly middling though. I've played past Day 10 and the (rather few) mini-games are merely variants of HOGs and not particularly challenging which is somewhat of a disappointment especially since the game info describes "a huge number of mini-games".

I haven't run into any time issues so far but I have been forced to use the hints. One issue was a clue named 'Board' and I couldn't find anything that it could be - clicking on hint and it showed a baby's dummy/pacifier!?! There had also been a few occasions when there are more than 1 item that matches the description - for instance 2 swords but only the one counts and several possible 'Birdies'

Unfortunately it's the detail that matters in games like this and although I'm sure that I'll finish it, it isn't one that I would play again.

...............Moderator comment...................

Thank you for your feedback. I agree with you on the detail. It seems to me that the developer has just jumped on the band wagon of a continuing cash cow. There’s a HOG being released almost every day at the moment and there has been for almost three years now. I felt that the game was hurriedly put together to take advantage of the money that can be made off this genre. The first HOG's I bought were back in 1999 and 2001 called I Spy: Spooky Mansion and Cluedo: Murder at Blackwell Grange and both were, too be honest far better constructed with excellent mini games than most HOG's I've played or tested since. The quality of the objects, the surroundings, as well as cut scene storytelling and fabulous mini games were incomparable to this weak HOG. you'd expect games to evolve and morph into even better games, but the evidence is here in front of me right now. The quality is outstanding. It seems to me that the more accessible gaming has become to the masses the lower the quality. (though not in all genres) Clue do can even be played as a multiplayer HOG, have you ever seen a MP HOG before, well they were making them back in 2001.

The claim that there are loads of mini games is one of those that would have persuaded me to have considered buying this game as I do like games that have various game types and challenges mixed in with the main theme. Pity this one doesn't live up to expectations. It's already been deleted from my system (and it takes a lot for me to totally get rid of a game as I'm a bit of a collector). :)

Please excuse the negativity. I rarely espouse such disappointment with giveaway games simply because we are getting them free, but HOG's have become a bit of a bug bear with me. I cancelled my Big Fish account because of the number of HOG’s that they were releasing. They certainly lived up to their promise of a game released every day, but out of a months’ worth of new releases you were lucky if you got more than 2 or 3 other genres and then most of those were Time Management games (which is another bug bear with me, lol) I've tested loads of these for various developers over the past several years and have noticed a gradual decline in quality (though I do realize there are still some developers releasing decent HOG's, but they are becoming scarce).

If you ever get the chance to play either of the games I mention above you would see what I mean. The original idea of a HOG was an excellent idea, but it seems with age we are getting diminishing returns on what was a good genre. :(

This game was easy to download. Game reminds me of dream day wedding. This game is too easy I was able to finish it with in a few hours. Needs to have harder levels. I had trouble on some of the levels the game gets real picky on where you click on the object. If you do not click in the right place it will take time off your game. I think this is a good game all in all.

the reason there is no item list in day 4 is simple...... just find the stick figureines that go with the *level objective* above the item list. so ..the *list* is there if u read objective.
that explains why some *see* the list and others dont... they read the objective..LOL

Looks like a great game, played like a great game until I exited for a bit. When I came back the only option was "New Game" instead of "Continue." Thankfully "New Game" also meant I could continue the old game.
When I came back to the level I was on, level 3, the picture loaded correctly, but there was no list of items to find! The area was completely blank. I thought it was because I closed the laptop at the Title screen to take a break, but after I exited the game and came back in, there were still no menu items. Vista is my OS.
I do enjoy these search games very much, and would like to play this one again.

I enjoy playing these types of games with my daughter. She's eight years old, and tries to find objects faster than I can. When she sees a word like compass, she has now learned to look for not only the round magnetic compass but also they type used for making circles in math class. Yes, these games can be simple, but they are a great way of wasting time.
To extract rar files, I use http://www.filehippo.com/download_universal_extractor/ that extracts all types of compressed files including msi, iso, all the common compressed files and I've even used it to extract from an exe file. This link takes you to a description page.

Thanks. Ok Win 7 x64. Full screen if don't check the h/w acceleration.
Fine graphics & hidden puzzles. Hints help. Nothing special but plenty of HOG for the fans. Bored me to tears after past stickmen (nice out of the box 'solution' to that one). Doing 3 set pieces yet again w/ time & hint levels just became a yawn. One more sword to find was way over my top point of patience. Rather go back to acrylic real life painting. This genre gone too stale for me.
For fans probably a 9/10 from looks of today's response & quality of the game itself, plus free. For others, well you decide if haven't turned off on this format by now. Nice offer GOTD.

I will never recommend this site or the offers, I downloaded 20 Days to Find Alice thinking I would enjoy it. When I decided to uninstall it, I couldn't even find it anywhere to uninstall. It is not included anywhere in any registries or folders at all. It's as if I never installed it.

I'm a big fan of GOTD, but being pretty useless computer-wise. If anything goes wrong, I get frustrated & my husband has to come to the rescue. That being said, I have had a lot of problems downloading some of the games (my fault usually) So after reading the comments I was expecting a horror show this time.

But HOGs are my favourite. So....

Downloaded perfectly.
No problem finding game & creating shortcut.
No problem with game play - I'm up to Day 8.
Not the greatest HOG but still a fun way to relax.

I guess the stickmen & cards are the other puzzles, just a little different, just a little outside-the-box.

Just "goes to show you", eh?
Thumbs up!
